A JESTER´S TALE
My second collab with Asad and Jadu - this time as co-writer.
We started from the question what spaces would be most interesting to augment, using Magic Leap tech - what kind of AR presence would be most eerie and revealing? Quickly, we landed at the bed - the most intimate and personal space we each associate private feelings with.
So, A JESTER'S TALE became a bedtime story, involving philosophical dilemmas and a batch of lab rats gone rogue. The viewer steps into a mesh of reality and augmentation blending the intimacy of a bedroom with the cold technical vibes of AI and holographic presence.
AJT premiered to critical acclaim at Sundance Film Festival 2019.
A JESTER’S TALE is a groundbreaking augmented reality experience that offers the viscerality of a psychologically taxing children's fable merging with the physicality of our world as you come home cold and tired, just in time for a bedtime story. In this interactive narrative the characters are just hollow meshes but maybe so are you.
